The Construction Zone
Desert Courtyard House
Wendell Burnette Architects
A majority of my career at the Construction Zone was spent building the Desert Courtyard House designed by Wendell Burnette Architects. This home north of Phoenix is the epitome of custom modern architecture, with every element built to suit a unified vision. My responsibilities included the development, detailing, and construction of all glazing elements, architectural metals, and structural custom millwork. This included such elements as multi slide doors that collapsed into a pivoting man-door, steel stairs suspended from brass rods, massive movable glazing elements, floating glass floors, and articulating volumetric millwork. I also assisted with the concrete, rammed earth, framing, and lighting integration.
